European Digital-Asset Banking: A Q1 2026 Snapshot
Which European banks are active in digital-asset services, what they offer, and what is still missing.
We surveyed sixty-eight European banks across deposit-taking, payment-services, and investment-services licences. Twenty-two are publicly active in digital-asset services as of Q1 2026 — up from fourteen a year earlier. The shape of that activity, however, is far narrower than the headline number suggests.
